Wasted Potential

When I originally took the image below, the title that came to mind was Wasted Potential.  Although that will stay the official name of the image, as cemeteries generally are filled with so many people who never fully reach their potential, I think this image means more. On the fourth of July, I started thinking cemeteries are also filled with people who sacrificed so much for our freedom.  People who gave their limbs, their comrades, their dreams and aspirations, their lives, for our Freedom.  Then somehow, that still wasn’t enough for me.  When I looked at this image on July 4th, 2012, this image made me think about the sacrifice God made for us.  This image made me think of how Jesus was beat, tortured, humiliated and crucified.  It made me think that if an all powerful God could sacrifice his only son, and that son could take my penalty, my sin, my torture, my death. . .then who am I to have wasted potential.  I realized, I have to live my life right and to its fullest , because too many people have given too much. . .and one has given his all.  Yeah, I know, that’s a lot from one picture.
