Okay, so i’m pretty sure I am way past 11 weeks (don’t judge me) but I am committing to producing 52 weeks of pictures. Even if they are not 52 consecutive weeks, I will get 52weeks of pictures and blogging. Last weekend I went camping with my son and the Cub Scouts of East Point’s Pack 1030. While it wasn’t our first time camping it was one of funniest times, no cold, way too many bugs, fishing, and knives (don’t ask). Of course I took plenty of pictures but the ones that I seemed to be the most attracted to from the weekend mostly includes some type of grass. Who knew green could be so pretty.

Just for the record, this originally was Joshua’s doing. He found this in his room and tried to fit it on his little brother. . .it didn’t fit. So, he received a little help from daddy. Who needs Easter Bunnies when you have a great Easter Kangaroo?

Gerald is the brother of one my favorite Brides, Naysa. He is a handsome young man who has decided to serve his country in the United States Navy. Caprena is Gerald’s beautiful bride who Loves him with an enthusiasm that could only be explained as “Young Love.” If you add their cute son affectionately known as “little G,” then you have what I can only describe as pure Awesomeness (i’m pretty sure that’s a word in Spain).

The thing that makes this wedding so special to Belkis and I, and will assure that we always remember this couple is that they were married on our 11th year anniversary. The fact that they had a full candy bar didn’t hurt their chances either. It was a small intimate affair of their closets family, friends and love ones. She was beautiful in blue, he was her knight in white. We all smiled, he cried and at the end of the day, everything was right in the world.

Thank you Caprena and Gerald for allowing us to be a part of your day, you will always be a part of our lives.

There were skittles, m&m, sour patches. . .oh my!

Thanks to Lynn G, I now notice lovely lady’s shoes and these were hot!

10/52 15 yrs of Love 11yrs of Marriage, 2 kids, 1 Happy Life

On 3/24/12, I had the opportunity to celebrate 11 years of marriage with my best friend, lover and partner, Belkis. With two young kids and rarely any time to spend alone, even on our anniversary, surely we didn’t work . . .right? Kid 1 went with his grandmother then a friend, kid 2 with the wonderful Geneva G, so what did their parents do. . . We spent the day together doing what we Love. We spent the day (well a few hours) doing something that celebrates our Love. We spent the day planting a seed for a wonderful young couple shooting their wedding. We spent the day, Together. I would not change a thing!

I actually have known Lynn for nearly my whole life. My mom and I met her and family on my very first visit to the D.C area when I was a child. If you have ever met her, you will never forget her smile, her warm and witty charm and the fact that she absolutely loves shoes. She recently asked me to create some pre-party portraits and event photos of her 50th birthday party at the fun Eclipse Di Luna. Imagine 20 of your best friends, latin music, great food (Tapas), fun conversation and of Course. . . .SHOES!

He was arrested 34 times. He was stabbed, shot at, beat, spit on, cussed at, hated, and convicted. His home was firebombed, his family’s life was threatened, his reputation and character were called to question, and finally he was assassinated. There are very few of us who will give up so much of their time, their family, their personal ambitions, their dreams and their freedom for people they will never meet. Joshua and I wanted to pay a small tribute to this image of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as we dare to ask all that see this, “What are you willing to sacrifice . . .and for what?”

We know the Month is over . . . but the Experience is Daily.

Our Goal wasn’t to Duplicate this image, just to pay Tribute to what it means

Joshua had the Cubscout Pinewood Derby this weekend at Woodward Academy and the kids had time to play before the race. I Love when my big kid takes care of his kid brother. It was a great Photography moment.

I was teaching her the basics of exposure (my own little photography course) and told her not pose while I snapped a picture with the Nikon D100 to demonstrate what I was talking about. Let me just say, I am so glad she is mine. I can’t do this thing without her and she happens to be beautiful . . .Bonus.
